27th April 2019The Harleston Jobs Club is to hold an open session at Metfield Village Hall from 10am-12pm on Thursday 16th May.
The following is from the Jobs Club website:
The Jobs Club is run by Lucy Marjoram, Jobs Club Co-ordinator and has a team of volunteers who are on hand to offer support and help with job searching needs.
Originally set up in 2009, the Jobs Club is friendly and informal, where jobseekers can drop in, chat, find out about local employment opportunities and access the internet and the latest apps.
It offers a range of free and confidential services in order to help jobseekers on their way to employment, these include:
- Help with writing a CV, covering letters and job applications
- Tips and advice for job interviews
- Information on volunteering opportunities and work experience
- Information on colleges and apprenticeships
- Local training and courses
- 1:1 careers advice
- Business start up information
In addition to this, 1:1 IT help is also available where jobseekers can learn how to carry out job searches, set up an email account and learn how to use Microsoft Office. The help is tailor-made for the jobseeker depending on their level of knowledge and what it is they wish to learn.
The Jobs Club in Harleston is open every Wednesday from 10am-2pm and everyone is welcome.
In April 2018 Harleston Information Plus were awarded funding from the European Social Fund LIFT Jobs programme to continue to run our weekly Jobs Club for a further two years. In addition to this, for the first time, we were able to extend our service to surrounding villages in Norfolk and north Suffolk and are currently offering pop up Jobs Clubs in villages for those who can’t make it into Harleston.
