The fully licensed bar directly serves the Meadow Room and Long Lounge. It can be hired for functions together with these lounges or the Main Hall.
The bar is open to the public together with the Meadow Room and Long Lounge every Friday from 6pm until 11pm and every Saturday from 7pm to 11pm, unless it has been hired for a private party or function. During the winter months, the bar may close at 9pm on Saturday nights at the discretion of the voluntary bar staff.
The bar is also open on the third Thursday of the month from 5pm to 8pm while Fish & Chips are on sale. It may also be open at lunchtime on the last Sunday of each month if Sunday Lunches are being served. See Calendar or Upcoming Events for more information.
The bar serves keg Carlsberg lager and Somersby cider and also offers a guest real ale from one of a number of local craft breweries including, St. Peter’s and Grain Brewery, served direct from the cask in our cooled cellar room.
For private parties or functions we can serve local real ales of your choice in either 36 pint or 72 pint casks. We will need at least two weeks notice to be able to order real ales or other special drinks requests for your event.
Any private hire of the bar can only take place with staff provided by the Village Hall Committee. It is not possible for hirers to run their own bar.
Please note that we are only able to accept cash payment for all bar and food purchases.
A selection of tasty bar meals cooked by Jill Cable are available on at least one Friday each month between 7pm and 9pm (see Calendar/Upcoming Events). Preferably let Jill know in advance if you want to order food/reserve a table. Telephone Jill on 01379-586202 or email email@example.com.
On the third Thursday of each month, Sue Pretty cooks delicious fish & chips in the village hall kitchen starting at 5pm. You can order a take-away or enjoy your fish supper in the bar with a relaxing drink. Fish suppers are cooked to order. Drop in early to avoid disappointment or call Sue on 01379-586625.
